Art is a form of self-
expression. Poetry, music, dance, film, and theatre are those
forms of arts through which human feelings are expressed.
Painting, print -making, Sculpture, Photography, Architecture
and Graphic Arts, all fall in the category of arts. In
developed countries Fine arts and fine artists are highly
respected. In our country majority considers fine arts as a
waste of time. But this thinking is changing now. Graphics and
architecture are also considered as fine arts but actually
fine arts include Paintings, Print Making, Sculpture and
photography. To acquire education in fine arts the most
important element is self- interest. Without interest it is
very difficult to be successful in this field. At intermediate
and bachelors level fine arts is taught as an optional
subject. There are about seven universities in different
provinces of Pakistan, which offer degree in fine arts. Some
of private institutions are registered with the Technical
Board and some are affiliated with foreign universities. Fine
arts is also taught in Arts Councils. National College of Arts
(NCA) is considered as Pakistan’s first and biggest fine arts
education institution.
Fine artists can get jobs in many areas.
They can work as creative head and as designer in advertising
agencies. They can work as Illustrators in printing press.
Illustrator’s responsibility is to visualize the thought or
words .A fine artist can also work as an art teacher. They can
also get jobs in media based organizations or production
houses. Not only this, but many color companies can also hire
them as color consultants. A Fine artist can also place their
paintings in art galleries from where they can earn handsome
amount of money. If a fine artist is hard working and has
expertise in his work then no doubt he can reach the peak of
