According to a general consensus prevailing in our country, it is believed that social science graduates do not easily get employment. Even though opportunities are limited, however, numerous avenues are still open, provided that students have thoroughly and sincerely studied their relevant course. According to a safe estimate, approximately 60% to 70% of the candidates appearing in Competitive Examination hold degree in some discipline of social science, or the other. This is a good way for social science graduates to test their academic skills and abilities. Besides, employment can also be acquired in the field of electronic or print media. Research is another vast area, in which job opportunities are available for social science students. Furthermore, they can also engage in educating their relevant subject. Thus, it can be stated, that the underlined problem is not regarding acquiring a job. Instead, students face difficulties because they do not determine a clear goal of life in front of them, and do not evaluate all avenues of employment available to them, and consequently, unnecessarily indulge in various political and psychological problems. Therefore, it is advisable that some practical steps can be taken either at bachelor or masters level, so that any anticipatory problem or risk can be reduced to the maximum. Such steps can include, improving communication skills, learning English language, acquiring computer knowledge, and polishing one’s general knowledge, and information pertaining to current affairs. Lastly, it is also suggested that apart from acquiring knowledge in one’s own field of interest, information regarding other subjects should also be kept up to the mark, and the process of learning should never be ceased.
