Script Writing:
Anyone who is capable of writing can take script writing as a career. Scripts are the basis of any program. They give actual shape to the program. We can divide scripts according to their genre:

Research Based Writing: Scripts written after research, as research is required in some programs like talk shows, historical dramas. 

Drama Writing: Scripts for dramas, which includes every type of drama like historical dramas, drama which highlights societal problems, Comedy etc.

News Writing:
News or scripts written for News Reports, current affairs or news analysis.

A scriptwriter should have the following qualities:
1. Ability to write
2. In depth study
3. Habit of research
4. Have command over the language in which he is writing

Set Designing:
If the recording doesn’t take place on actual location, then sets are placed in the studio or in any other location. These set whether for dramas, talk shows, music programs or for news reading room is the backbone of any program. Unique set with different colors could attract people. This field is of great interest for architects and fine artist. One can start a career in set designing as assistant set designer. 

Costume /Dress Designing:
Scene of a drama is of Umrao Jaan Adaa’s era but the performers are of today’s age. These performers are dressed up in that era because of designers, who design costumes according to the requirement of the drama. Dress designing is not only done for dramas but also for the host of talk shows, music shows or for informative news programs. All this is done through the fashion department. People who are interested in dress designing should join this field.

Camera/Lighting:
Program prepared on papers reaches the audience through camera. One can’t imagine any production without camera. That is why cameraman is the most important person in any program. Apart from camera, other thing, which is very important, is lighting. Lights are required when natural light is not available. A cameraman does the lighting according to the requirement .Experience is the most important factor in this field.

Make-up:
People working in front camera whether artist, hosts of different programs or news anchors, all require make- up to highlight their features in a way that makes them presentable. A make-up artist has the talent of changing the facial features through makeovers. Certain kind of make-up is required for media, which is an essential requirement for this field.

Editing:
After recording of program, the next stage is of editing. At this stage editor, edits the irrelevant material from the recorded program. Editing gives a final shape to the program. During editing, all the necessary graphics and after effects are given.
