Drama Producer or Director

The Basic idea of the drama is conceived by the Producer. After the idea is approved the producer hires the writer, the cast and the director. Apart from these duties he also prepares the budget and maintains logistic control over the production.

The Director’s job is to prepare the sets, camera placement and lighting according to the requirements of the script, so that the drama is shot with authenticity and according to a realistic scenario. Furthermore, the director’s responsibilities also include conducting rehearsals and keeping a watchful eye on the costumes and makeup.

Talk Shows

A talk show is a program where different types of topics are discussed. The direction and production of talk shows is a little different from other type of programs. For a talk show, there are normally one or two hosts, who ask questions with the invited guests. The number of guests can vary from program to program. Audiences from different walks of life are invited to ask questions from the guests. For these types of program a complete script is not written, as the host controls the flow of the discussion. Usually the scripts are written for reports or packages which are incorporated in the program to add value and stir up interest amongst the viewers. Mostly programs are not telecasted live; in fact they are recorded and then edited first, before going on air.

News

News programming is a somewhat different from the other two as it’s mostly concerned with up to date happenings around the world and is telecasted live. News is basically divided into two, one the actual news bulletins and reports, and other the specialized news production programs. In news bulletins and reports the newscaster provides up to date news to the viewers. The News programs are usually talk shows or online programs which are geared towards current news and they invite guest speakers to shed lights on the latest happenings.
