Music is a universal language. Musicians and singers play a very important role in music. Musician composes different tunes, not only for songs but also for the background music of films, stage shows and dramas. To make a career in this field one must have complete knowledge of music and musical instruments.

A melodious voice brings life to the composed tunes of musician, and this voice is of the Singer. Electronic media has given an identity to singers and has provided opportunities to the youngsters. A singer can sing solo or form a band and sell his cassettes in the market. Singers also perform in national and international concerts organized by different organizations. They also sing for different dramas and films. It’s very important for a singer to have a complete know how of music, poetry and musical instruments. No doubt, a beautiful voice is god’s gift but it’s very important to have a teacher to guide in the right direction. For learning music, there are some academies which offer courses of different durations. One can also learn singing from those who are masters in this field.
We can divide music in the following categories:

1.Classical Music: This music is based on raags. In Pakistan there are many known classical singers.
2.Qawali:This music is based on the poetry of Sufi poets. This music represents the culture of Pakistan.
3. Folk music: Music based on myths , old stories. Pakistan is very rich in this type of music.

In Pakistan, there was no trend of music videos but as the music industry is growing; music videos are becoming a need of all type of songs, whether Ghazal or folk Qawali or pop or even a classical number, all have music videos which are made according to the lyrics and music of the song .Many people are involved in the making of these videos like, director, Choreographer, musicians, cameraman, editors and technical staff.
